How Dr. Anna Chacko Played Congressman Brad Miller Like a Violin
Liberals, Media Bias — By Harrison on January 10, 2010 at 12:00 pmAn interesting story from a fellow blogger about General Eric Shinseki, head of the VA, and Congressman Brad Miller of the
13th District of North Carolina.
Dr. Chacko was head of radiology at the Pitt VA until recently. She arrived at the Pittsburgh VA in October of2008. Almost immediately, there were a series of complaints to H.R. about her behavior. She was accused of bullying, intimidating, threatening, lying and being disruptive.Things came to a head in March and an administrative investigative board was formed to consider removing her. In April, that was the recommendation of the board.
Then, Dr. Chacko reached out to Congressman Brad Miller of NC 13th district. Miller has his own history with the same Pitt VA. You may know about an investigation he lead into the destruction of a strand of legionella at a lab there. In this report, Miller was scathing in his criticism of Dr. Mona Melhem, an administrator at the Pitt VA. Chacko must have convinced Miller that her removal was really being orchestrated by Melhem because Miller wrote a letter on May 15 to General Eric Shinseki, head of the VA, and that letter said as much. Miller encouraged Shinseki to reinstate her and instead investigate the Pitt VA. In fact, a couple weeks later, Shinseki did order Chacko’s reinstatement.
