Obama Asks for “Patience” and “Patients”

He feels your pain and has a healthcare plan for it, too.

Well, what is is Obama going to do but to ask for Americans to wait the bad economic times.  I guess since almost all of the “stimulus” won’t take effect until the end of this year or next year we’ll have to do as he says.  Of course, the “stimulus” was supposed to create or save 2-3 million jobs.  Unemployment has increased since those days but supporters would point to some phantom facts and say: “Gee it would have been worse without the stimulus.”  Sure.

According to the Associated Press:

It’s unclear whether this will work, because polls show mounting anxiety about Obama’s policies. These include his $787 billion stimulus package, which has not had a huge impact so far, and, more broadly, the vast spending that has pushed the federal deficit to the unprecedented level of more than $1 trillion this year.

Despite blowing up the debt, Obama remained upbeat:

“And the challenge for this administration is to make sure that even as we are stabilizing the financial system, we understand that the most important thing in the economy is: Are people able to find good jobs that pay good wages?”

I find this statement to be a complete joke since he is trying to kill the economy with Cap and Trade.  Healthcare “reform” looks to saddle the country will so much debt we could all go down the tubes as without the “revenue” from Cap and Trade there will be no money to fund Obamakare.

To be fair to President Obama, he did not cause the economy to be the way that it is and he did take office at a difficult time for anybody, however his willingness to push economic killers is not doing any favors for workers or businesses who have got to be wondering how much of their money they will be forced to donate to the government.  Already in California the sales tax was jacked up and the fee to license a car for a year was doubled not to mention all of the new taxes that are being implemented and Obama’s push to tax the “wealthy” an extra 5.4%.

What the economy needs are tax cuts, reducing spending, and no more foolish “stimulus” spending that only places a greater burden on future generations of Americans.  Small business owners, who employ the majority of Americans, need to know it is safe to hire people and invest in the future.

Obama, were he smart, would also expand oil drilling so as to not only secure a future energy supply for Americans, increase tax revenues, but also curtail the flow of money to the Middle East and countries like Venezuela.  California alone would stand to see billions of dollars in revenue were offshore oil drilling to be allowed.  Nuclear plants should also be built (which would actually do some stimulating in more ways than one).

Instead, we will see silly pep talks about patience and waiting for sunnier days while the Democrats press forward on healthcare “reform” and Cap and Trade as well as other silly ideas that will be poorly implimented because they do not have the “patience” to slow the process down and write sensible bills.
